My favorite conversation in a long time.

Gavin Newsom spoke at my high school graduation in 2003. I’ll never forget it because the speech was so bizarre; he spent 20 minutes insisting that 'women will rule the world.' Even then, it felt divisive—as a young man, it seemed like he couldn't care less about the challenges we were facing. Looking back, it’s clear he was already building a career on identity politics and appealing to specific demographics rather than focusing on effective policy. I’ve since moved from California to Texas, and I don't regret it.

We are such sue-happy society where I trip and fall on the sidewalk due to my stupidity and can then sue the city, the business fronting the sidewalk, etc.. we've created a culture where we're constantly running scared and protecting against boogeymen that don't exist. We need to get back to core values of personal responsibility and taking ownership of our actions. I've lived in Germany and Austria and if I slip on a banana peel in the supermarket the response is "why weren't you looking where you were going, obviously you're in a place that has this potential hazard...pay better attention!" The Hoover Dam could never be built today with the same efficiency as it was way back then. Great conversation, thank you!

I've listened and read (not taco bell material) to Corolla for 20 years and he's one of the most pragmatic people I've encountered. It fills me with hope that the guys I work with that are younger than 40 have discovered and love him.

It's hard to sympathize with those who got burned out when you know they'll reelect the same incompetent politicians.

I lived in Los Angeles for 5 years and I always found it amusing when people would say I could go skiing in the morning and swim in the ocean in the afternoon. I would ask, ‘have you’? Answer, no I don’t ski. Also, the ocean off California is cold year round. The Northern California coast is beautiful. But Southern California beaches compared to the gulf coast of Florida is not a contest. Florida’s sugar sand beaches are nicer and the turquoise blue water is always pleasant.

California sells its constituency on lofty promise and never considers the inhumanity of the performance.

No government employees union. Abolish them.

No political figure has the balls to tackle the debt. It'll eventually just end as a wreck and then a new type of leader will emerge.

How about we get rid of the fraud so we dont need to raise taxes? Only reason not to is because these politicians and folks lobbying are benefiting from it.

When they say “California is collapsing,” silently translate it into: “Here’s a story about [housing / homelessness / crime / taxes / fires] that supports our politics.”

Adam and Victor Hanson Davis are the wisest men I’ve witnessed in California. My wife was a lifelong resident of California, having lived in several places from San Francisco to Fresno where she was born and grew up in, until COVID. She’s 57 now and her heart is broken by what California has become. We live happily in Oklahoma.

The real issue is Americans without ambition, boldness, and toughness. These core qualities need to return to both men and women.

Hello Adam, I'm a 79 y/o senior; born/raised in Hollywood & WeHo. Moved to the west San Fernando Valley in '94. I totally agree with you and your guest. Seeing all the damage, etc., our 'Dope' so-called state leaders, have done...to our great state. It's sad, especially for the young generation, especially. As our public school system, has eroded. Also a big believer in, the manuel labor force. Able to build and create. Job learning skills, etc. Sorry you lost your Malibu home. Never thought I'd see, California, end-up, like this! So glad to hear you bring up the government worker pension disaster because we need to get out ahead of that before they start conditioning people to accept the obligation to pay for it. If we don't get to retire at age 55 with full pension for life why in the hell should we have to work until we're 70 to pay for it

I've been listening to All In for quite awhile. It's on my weekly rotation. I love the guests you bring on. I particularly liked the matter of fact delivery of this guest. He certainly didn't tip toe around any topic - so refreshing. And I agree - men and women are wired differently and that's a good thing.
