Small business owner in CA who probably makes less than y'alls private chefs, but I'm the 0.01% that wouldn't want this tax. It's nothing more than organized theft. Wrong things don't stop being wrong just because you're on the benefiting side of the matter. People need to start underwriting their politics with a moral worldview, otherwise you just sell your vote for whoever gives you the most tchotchkes. Off to a roaring start guys, thanks for another episode.
-
I like how JCal just couldn't help himself but to billionaire signaling.. 😂
-
i kinda feel like Freiburg is the only guy i can trust to speak candidly on this pod
-
"a ONE time tax" Yeah right! Never forget that Income Tax was passed as the 16th amendment in 1913 as follows... 2% tax on incomes up to $20k 3% tax to $50k 4% tax to $75k 5% tax to 100k 6% tax to 250k 7% tax to 500k Once a government taxes, they never stop going back to the well and moving the goalposts.
-
More taxation from a state that is $90+ billlion in debt, California is terrible with money
-
These dudes promoting betting businesses they’re invested in while covering a betting scandal. Priceless
-
Can we have a 1 time Gavin Newsome tax, just 1 time where we tax 100% of his wealth, again i say only 1 time
-
Audit the sh!T outta CA then send people to prison because the money is clearly being stolen and laundered
-
what I hate is even if they pay it how do we hold people at the government accountable for how it gets spent that is the real issue. It's sad the whole thing is a mess.
-
The bigger issue is how the government spends money, not how they tax the rich.
-
Meanwhile Florida is debating on removing property tax entirely on your homesteaded home.
-
so strange the poker themed intro was missing from this episode
-
Frieberg is pumped in this episode hahaha I love it!
-
How much more stupid CA constitution can get ? This is basically stealing
-
It’s great to have Friedberg’s voice prominent on this pod these days. A trustable intelligent voice.
-
Chamath, if your friends and family don’t say it, THANK YOU! They have no idea how blessed they are to have a person in their lives that’s always paying for their dinner or excursions. That’s so incredibly kind of you!!
-
Gambling is no different than a drug habit. It ruins families and lives. Just another vice that people justify because it’s lucrative. The small bettors that waste their limited resources chasing their next “fix” end up ruining their lives. Smh
-
“Billionize” 2:09 😂😂😂
-
Finally, we hear what is said at the poker table
-
The problem is not taxation. The problem is how wasteful the government will be with that tax revenue.
-
So greasy gavin blew all the taxpayers money, has nothing but destruction to show for it, now he wants to grab more to blow again? "Trust me bro" 😂
-
First part of the podcast is so relatable
-
The safest thing is to do is to leave Cali
-
The week-end starts when All-In drops! ❤
-
Sack’s calling out J Cal in that Amazon section has me dying 😂
-
California government brazenly attempting to steal from people is really wild… Leaders in that state have really gone off the rails
-
sacks saying robots won’t take jobs is a crazy take
-
Insurance agent here making around 50k btw-it’s not robots problems, it’s endless greed on the top and policies that encourage this behavior.
-
Sacks seem to be less polarising here and willing to debate on topics. Love it!
-
San Diego spends over $500,000,000 per year feeding the broken pension funds. That's money that doesn't go to fixing the broken roads.
-
In Australia, John Howard introduced 10% GST for goods and services and promised it is a once off thing... Anyway OZies still pay this Tax...
-
This CA criminal cabal has stolen so much of my money I can’t stand these criminals! I’m moving my companies out of here! Fed up,
-
Truly emotional episode. The pain of managing excessive wealth and optimizing tax structures really speaks to my daily struggles. 😂
-
This is my favorite podcast specifically because you guys openly disagree on various subjects and are not afraid to show it! Feels very real and genuine. Keep it up!
-
Friedberg is the absolute goat. The other guys know this and resent him for how based he is.
-
Do everything to avoid income tax and then act surprised when hit with a wealth tax. They thought the infinite money glitch would never be patched.
-
Once they start taxing assets of the very rich, it’s just a matter of time until they tax all taxpayers out of the state. 😢
-
24:15 chamath seemed truly hurt by Jason’s anecdote
-
People don't seem to realize that approximately 0 people worked for Amazon 20 years ago. Where did they work? Or did they just appear out of thin air? This idea that Amazon jobs are some inalienable right or permanent fixture of society functioning is just a moral panic. Note also that it's often the same people who would have been complaining 5 years ago about how bad the Amazon jobs are.
-
I'm definitely not a billionaire champion, but in every situation who feels it knows it and I certainly have empathy for Billionaires on this. Why? Property taxes were supposed to be temporary, now millions of Americans are stuck paying taxes on the property forever! Government has always mismanaged taxes.
-
Billionaires: Working will be optional Also Billionaires: I'll move out of the city if you make me pay 2% higher tax. Where will the money come from?
-
Fantastic one this week guys. You are dead nuts on regarding the growth of government and its commitments
-
10 minutes in and Chamath is sounding weirdly reasonable and nuanced in his takes.
-
The problem with the one-time 5% billionaire tax fee is there's always a reason to do it again, just one more time. Have you ever known the California government to collect money and use it to pay down their debts? Just curious.
-
Former president Ronal Regan (while president) once stated: "In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem."
-
5% tax? They suck at using the money they get. If they take that money-they’ll be in the same position in 5 years. Poor management will always collapse wealth.
-
Original besties together and keeping it real. A deeper look into the hard questions.
-
When Sacks says katzenberg, I keep hearing `cats and birds`.
-
California is in terminal decline. The next governor will have to make some tough calls
-
I would never vote for taxing billionaires a one time 5% wealth tax. It’s ridiculous.
-
Tax politicians baces on how many years they served if they ran an unprofiteble state.
-
Even a conservative state like Utah, if the home is not your primary residence, the property tax DOUBLES. About half the homes in my subdivision in UT are second homes, most have their primary residence in Salt Lake City area.
-
50 MILLION DOLLARS?!?!?!?!?! that will be gone in a single year? what the hell?
-
These four don’t even realize when they throw it in our face. Wealth can truly be disgusting.
-
0:26 J Cal's inner capitalist comes out.
-
Almost 1M boys!!!!! Lets gooo
-
The other issue with taxing the wealthy is trusting the state will be fiscally responsible with that tax money. California had failed on so many levels with tax money
-
These pods are awesome. But I would watch just for the opportunity to hear the theme song. 😅
-
Interesting how Jason skips right over Tesla’s Robotaxi and Cybercab when talking about the company’s future, and jumps straight to Optimus. Almost feels like he doesn’t want to acknowledge that Uber could be in real trouble if Tesla actually delivers on those projects.
-
Love all you guys but please don’t interrupt Sacks so frequently. Let him make his point.
-
Talking about AI and jobs is very very important. If we dont deal with this we will have socialism. We don't have a true market system. We haven't had one in a while.
-
I made this comment before when the YT manager were experimenting with A/B thumbnails 100% do it for interviews and clips but for episodes, they should still be the same old format Helps set the videos apart from clips and interviews. Plus when you have a returning guest, it’s easier to identify based off of the person‘s background. Appreciate the effort in experimenting. Always worth a shot to try. Edit: also red text over red background hard to see
-
17:05 About bets... I was in a taxi in Asia, the driver knew all the Swiss soccer teams and the players. I knew 1/10 of them. I later understood that local big m4fias was part of international rings for betting on championships they can "influence". It is difficult to influence the big clubs, but the amateurs or 2nd divisions... Easy and less controlled.
-
It’s funny how they are against wealth tax but they were celebrating tariff and calling it a genius move.
-
Friedberg another masterclass performance on not being politically polarizing and being practical.
-
44 minutes in. Freidberg with the standard rant on politicians generating votes by promising free services. California higher Ed used to be a good public service until the funds were siphoned off and replaced with a for profit loan system that is ruining lives today. Stop the corruption and the services work.
-
21:26 Jason interrupting chamath telling me how I’m about to make money. Cheers for that mate.
-
20:02 i disagree. Gambling needs to be illegal. It destroys everything.
-
It's not fair to expect mega wealthy people to pay huge amounts of taxes over and above what they already pay to compensate for a mismanaged state employee pension fund. There's no way I believe that this is a one-time tax. The state is going to fritter away the money instead of bailing out their pension fund. That one-tax is going to be repeated because imposing taxes is easy. The businesses will move out of the state and take their jobs and employees with them. It's a bad idea.
-
I'm not a billionaire, and I'd never vote for that.
-
39:00 - 41:38 Thank you Jason!
-
Bunch of bootlickers in the comments opposing taxing billionaires. They're not gonna hire you 😂
-
lol the water spitting was hilarious. No more taxes, cut spending. No public employee should have a defined benefit retirement end of story. It’s a big % of state and local budgets.
-
More money is not the solution for California. The state gov of CA has not proven to be responsible and efficient with tax payer funds. More money is not going to change that.
-
Chamath literally described the public education system at the end of the podcast.
-
Property confiscation?!? Wow, I thought degrading the rule of law was insane. I only have a typical 401K balance, but I will find a way out of the U.S. if we don’t course correct soon. Looking like Balaji is correct! Super sad. It’s been an incredible run. Thank you Founding Fathers. The guys are 100% correct.
-
The more tax money the California state government gets the more they destroy the state, You don't need sympathy for billionaires to not want that government to have more power. They just use the money to incentivize homelessness, incentivize drug use, incentivize crime, ect...
-
"The Mob" has been integrated into the govt. ✌😎
-
just remember our founding fathers started the revolution because they opposed the British taxation, allegedly.
-
All those billionaires in California already paid income taxes for the income that they generated to purchase those assets that California now wants to tax. I agree with Friedberg - likely not constitutional. And, by the way, when a Democrat says that this is a “one time tax”, that is never true.
-
Friedberg should write a book.
-
48:00 - 48:30. Thank you Jason!
-
I don't know how else to describe it, but every time I listen to these guys I feel like I need a shower. (especially chamath)
-
The government is mostly full of rent seekers. Billionaires can also be rent seekers, some are, some aren't, lets distinguish between them. Rent seeker have been and are the problem the world over.
-
Wealth taxes are scary because the populous is dumb enough to do it.
-
I would like to see what's their solution should be when 1% of the wealthy own over 33% of the resources in the US. Keeping money at the top hurts everyone else. You notice these people don't provide any ways to fix this. They are hoarders to the detriment of us.
-
Billionaires laughing at their audience while they donate their $$ from tax cuts to the White House ballroom is peak comedy… meanwhile the government is shutdown and we just crossed $2T since Trump came into office.
-
This is the only channel on YouTube that I don't get adds on. 🤔
-
Great episode! Everyone firing on all cylinders. Great topics 🙂
-
All-In Pod glazing Bari Weiss the toadie 😂😂 enlightening
-
Great Ep. Bot labour tax is the future, Tom Lee Fundstrat has cool ideas around this theme. Thanks for the weekly fix 🥂
-
LLM prediction prioritizes inline context > reinforcement learning > pre-training. So in the end, it's how you prompt it that matters. models are just like people. We should have freedom of "output" then it's up to the user to decide if they wanna believe it or not
-
Poor ppl like myself that make bad decisions getting to decide if you the rich get taxed? I think not , that’s dumb 😂… why 5% ??? What they gonna do with it , they always want more and still pissing it away
-
It's in billionaires best interest that AI and robots' first application should be in food and housing production because a starving and unhoused populace will resort to crime and target high net worth individuals.
-
Ask Newsom about the cost overruns on his light rail project. It is that kind of irresponsible spending that got us here.
-
This podcast is brought to you by Fanduel
-
Newsom’s California leads the nation in homelessness, poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, retail crime, energy costs, and net migration outflows. As the “4th largest economy in the world” this is clearly due to policy and spending mismanagement, not a revenue shortfall.
-
First the Billionaires then the millionaires and so on down the line . I live in CA the governor first destroyed San Francisco , now he is making the state a mess . Then he is on to the Presidency .
-
#RonPaulWasRight
-
Newsome brags how wealthy they are! Yet he is always in need of bail outs. And this guy wants to be president??
-
JCal is "almost a billionaire" and wears 1980's style aviator spectacles that don't fit ! 🤣🤣🤣
-
The alot of billionaires and millionaires in asia are moving to Singapore ,its causing a realistate to skyro ket.
-
They admitted that they don't want to talk about AI job loss. lol.
-
No matter how much California taxes people the politicians will mismanage it😂🎉
-
Billionaires tiger is fascism. They think they can suck up and control the tiger, but it will eat them too. Their soul, their wealth, their families and their lives.
-
I don't think you guys intended this to be the most hilarious ALL-IN PODCAST EVER, but you nailed it. Billionaires complaining about having to pay a bit of extra money in taxes is legit the funniest thing thing I've ever listened to. Love the Pod!
-
Trump just pardoned another one of his Bitcoin Bros. You can basically buy a pardon at the Whitehouse and you focus on the NBA 😂😂😂
-
5%…. Well thats a good way to kill all industry in your state
-
I appreciated that you all agreed things got sidetracked and went back to the topic. Very respectfully done all around and constructive. Well done
-
Politicians carelessly spend money that is not theirs.
-
Progressive income tax and an escalating inheritance tax such that the maximum inheritance cannot exceed $100 million. No more than 5% of net worth squirrelled away in offshore accounts, trusts, foundations or NGOs.
-
Ban the sports insiders, coaches, players, refeeres for Life if there caught fixing! polygraph them all
-
Friedberg is the 🐐 of this bunch, as always 🤌
-
"Bari Weiss calls balls and strikes" broooooooooooo
-
Billionaires kill the "Goose that laid the golden egg". The Hubris of the Dudes is off the chart! Capitalism always collapse out off excess greed..
-
23:38 i think Robin Hood all ready does all of these assets and predictions.
-
Well, those Gambling mafia know their time has come. Even if they are indicted, they know Potus will pardon them.
-
“The greatest political deception is the notion that more money will solve every problem. The truth is, our leaders have consistently proven incapable of managing the resources they already possess.”
-
Every episodes, should just be "Tech-Bros with lots of money complaining about having to pay more taxes."
-
Anyone notice the super obvious edit right before Chamath gives us alpha on how to make money on Polymarket?
-
In March 2021, Glass Lewis was acquired by Peloton Capital Management, a Canadian private equity firm based in Toronto, and Stephen Smith, a Canadian financial services entrepreneur. Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) was acquired by the German-based company Deutsche Börse AG in 2020. Why would I care what Canadians and German have to say about the governance of companies I own? I think I'll rely on my companies' management teams instead.
-
44:30 Do those knee pads come with the United States Seal on them sachs?
-
This is crazy! It sounds like Newsome is piggybacking on Mondami trying to rob the rich!
-
did I hear it correctly? Sacks complained his income tax has been raised to 13.3%??? I am paying much more than him in percentage 😢
-
Dang is Jcal in a hurricane?
-
The gov robbing builders & business owners to cover up their theft of the tax payers money. Starting with billionaires then rinse and repeat.
-
What a shakedown by the state of california. No different than being mugged on the street.
-
One job today, 2 jobs tomorrow, on and on and on
-
Criminalize wasteful spending in government
-
Friedberg always voice of reason and carrying this Pod.
-
1:42 with love, i think this is the first time chamath made me laugh. that was good.
-
Gives “Occupy Mars” a new meaning 1:03:14
-
AWS was not a side quest, it came out of needing to handle the insane holiday shopping usage spikes. They had to build out tons of hardware that would still idle most of the year, so they wanted to recoup the expense by renting out the hardware.
-
Jason’s is actually saying “Let them eat cake”
-
Billionaires not wanting to be taxed. Shocker!
-
That sounds amazing
-
THE MOB IS THE BLOB
-
Great episode!
-
Great One!!
-
We used to have Empires ruled by Emperors, we used to have Kingdoms ruled by Kings…Now we only have Countries
-
My EE husband said we would have done better financially starting out today than in the seventies.
-
This was a great episode
-
Great pod
-
My plan is to also Billionize. Hold my beer.
-
This podcast is so over my head this week😂
-
World's most moral podcast.
-
I cannot believe a word out of Sach's mouth.
-
9:35 Yes, a state like Florida taxes property differently if you live there more than 6 months a year, and like CA property taxes get grandfathered, with “small” yearly increases, that make the taxes much higher on a property that gets sold and has its taxes reset to a higher amount just because of the sale.
-
With NBA betting, The Donald seeking vengeance against Cuban?
-
AWS is awesome. I have been running a business on it since early 2012. AWS provide lots of guidelines on how to make architecture more resilient and multi region. Making something multi cloud more likely to make things more complex and less reliable.
-
Not updated numbers but the last time I checked, CA has around $260 billion of unfunded pension/retirement benefits.
-
6-7 mentioned at 1:00:16
-
D Sacks keep up the good work champ! Talking real shit my boy
-
I saw the autonomous car in Vegas it was a bit spooky to see this thing driving around
-
43:47 WELL SAID!!
-
Broadcast rule for clarity ,: one voice, one mic, one speaker.
-
JCal doing the nerd voice will always be hilarious
-
Chamath was the first to bring up the mismanagement aspect of California's budget. I'm hoping the voters recognize the problems with their corrupt legislators.
-
David Sacks refusing to eat/jump on red meat???? It’s official, he has been corrupted by DC swamp. 😂
-
Sachs: "the result of karen bass getting elected resulted in the palasade fire" the echo chamber syndrome is real lol
-
California: On behalf of America it’s time you moved out of your parents house and go out on your own. Just become your own country mmmmk?
-
First time again? I'm guessing I've subscribed to so many channels #Mrmv
-
Are you changing the opening? I noticed there was no poker table opening. This week's podcast had interesting topics. Thought provoking stuff.
-
Estate taxes for billionaires is their worst nightmare
-
You tell 'em king
-
If you watch the twilight zone reruns from the 1960s, all the sci-fi is coming to fruition
-
Thank you all for all your hard works!
-
You guys are such amazing, super cool geeks ; ) Very fun!
-
I ♥️ The Besties!!! Thank ya’ll for another banger.
-
Diverse opinions, I love it. Hadn't thought about tobotics in mining, but that makes sense.
-
Friedberg props on coolest green screen 😎
-
These friends are hilarious
-
ALL IN ONE Pod, is an investors DREAM.

-
Proud Grok user checking in :)
-
my favorite podcast great job
-
Thanks for the show.
-
This happened in Aspen. Each got pushed out by the next higher bracket group.
-
Another great pod
-
@38:30 Why is this so funny lol
-
Good to see Chamath in such high spirits after they announce the Billionaire Tax
-
Man oh man I never knew Glass Lewis or ISS existed or that function existed. Also the comments on robots mining and colonizing Mars were interesting. Learn something knew everyday I suppose. Good episode All In team, thanks. P.S. is David Sacks looking a little like Lorne Michaels of SNL 🤔 😂
-
They just flushed “the best trade deal” that any country had with the US in a single day.
-
I love these guys being so detached from reality of normal everyday people “If I own a sports franchise…”
-
Robots on Mars? They would need to be able to repair each other...
-
I love how within DAYS of this episode and Saks getting huffy as all get out about Amazon not cutting any jobs due to AI…. Amazon cuts 14,000 jobs! 🤣🤣🤣
-
I love how the government can always fix your problems if you just give them 5% more of your money.
-
Me wiping my screen to remove the spec of dust. But it’s just chamaths nose.
-
"my income tax was increased to 13%" Brother, we common folks have been paying upto 49% since ages.
-
1 time billionaire tax will turn into once every 5 years, then every year!
-
Just like toll roads, it was supposed to pay for the construction then go away. The states couldn’t help themselves and kept the tolls going. Greedy politicians
-
Remember, Blackrock was majorly behind DEI! Fink stated, we have to force change!’
-
Forgetting to censor Phil on the last mention lolll 😂
-
Did David F actually say "we agreed not to talk about job losses"? Kudos to JCal for pushing on this issue. It needs to be discussed. This is not the same as the industrial revolution because of the rate of change, and if the key feature of the age of abundance is a massive excess of labor, we need to be figure out how to deal with that effectively. Should we go full steam ahead - absolutely, we need to dominate the field and win the game. But we also need to deal candidly with potential problems rather than "agree not to talk about them".
-
Humanoid robots will be the primary consumers of AI.
-
Been waiting on my tequila for like 5 months with no information. Who else? Can we start a class action to scare Jason?
-
@43:21 - Friedberg is spot on
-
Nexqloud just solved the AWS, GCP and MS Azure overlay issue.
-
The only millionaires will be government officials, their relatives and friends
-
For everyone who loves PolyMarket and that style of gambling, you'll love the Jeraptha species from the Expeditionary Force series of sci-fi novels. We're getting closer to their type of betting culture, but the Jeraptha take it to an extreme that is comically fun. I highly recommend the Expeditionary Force novels for the Jeraptha alone.
-
NEVER trust a Billionaire. They have a pathological desire to own everything, no matter the cost to society.
-
A poor man can’t afford to gamble and a rich man has no reason to gamble.
-
1:02:31 Chamath repping Canadians! Love to see it
