I’m really enjoying these one-on-one talks you’ve been doing David. I’ve already watched a few and they’re great. Thank You 😊
-
Love these more frequent interviews! David does a great job of running them
-
Dr Makary is a super genius when it comes to common sense. It’s so great that someone like him is finally FDA commissioner. Politics and monied interests have displaced medical science for far too long. A welcome change and a great interview.
-
Double Friedberg week let’s goooo
-
Dr. Makary is impressive - I'm happy he's heading FDA.
-
I am a cancer free human due to CAR-T. I have had non-Hodgkins for a number of years and for the past 4 years it recurred. Going through Chemo, infusions and trial experimental pills, it maintained the size of the tumor but it was still there. I was given the opportunity for CAR-T therapy and opted for it. It was not the easiest treatment but after my T-cells were infused back into my body, within 6 weeks and a total Petscan, I am cancer free!!!! My numbers are good and I am so Thankful for the Dr's, Researchers and medical personnel who brought this technology into existence. Great interview. I have followed Dr Makary for the last few years. Thankfully he's a part of this administration.
-
Just a reminder, YT kicked pretty much everyone off the platform who said such things early on.
-
As someone who was gaslight for getting sick from the vaccine and banned from social media for sharing my story - appreciate this content
-
David is nailing it! Thank you!
-
Woo another episode this week!!! And it’s Science corner on crack
-
Covid clearly showed who was brilliant and who was dumb amongst our friends. Silver lining in the cloud.
-
This is one of the most encouraging, uplifting videos on YouTube. As a Stage IVB cancer survivor, I am astonished at how little conversation there has been about the preventative steps that matter most: avoiding sugar, close connections, food as medicine, and exercise. I am so grateful to see real, national leadership in the most important areas in our lives: what we put in our bodies and how we treat them. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
-
You guys are killing it with the interviews
-
Can we have a Jay Bhattacharya interview next?
-
David is one of the best interviews in the country, he always asks the right and relevant questions
-
RFK jr, Makary, Battacharya, Prasad et al = Best performing Trump team!
-
Friedberg is a national treasure, amazing discussion!
-
Love Friedberg's arc, has become one of the more based individuals on All in and spews common sense. Was holding out for J-cal but might not be in this lifetime.
-
What an excellent interview! Thank you, FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, for taking the time to discuss these topics with David Friedberg.
-
He’s good. The FDA was a major headache during my time in pharma/biotech doing development work. While we all support safety and efficacy, the inflexible regulatory system at the agency created a significant obstacle. It’s accurate to say that the high cost of drug development is largely driven by these regulations.
-
we are so very lucky to have Marty and people like him in the FDA thinking critically for a change vs selfishly people so underestimate Trumps terms Ive met Marty he is top notch as seen here
-
The only conversation that truly touches almost every American. FDA oversight, health outcomes, and accountability were finally discussed properly. Well done, Friedberg 👏Huge thanks for making this happen, @ThanksDoc. :thanksdoc:
-
I can't wait for FDA and USDA to tackle our myriad of dirty, poisonous foods (from spices to coffee to meat and beyond). It's nearly impossible to "eat clean" in this country. Great interviews from the besties this month!
-
This is one of the best interviews. Love the honesty and openness. Also the way he admits to prescribing opioids himself- so much accountability. Science corners are the best
-
Friedberg is so good at asking pertinent questions
-
This is what I hoped the FDA would turn into. Great talk. Great to hear proper info from the source
-
Excellent, thorough interview. Thank you Friedberg and Marty Makary.
-
Can we just all agree that we need to follow the science? Clinical studies should be believed. Politicians like to lie and hide the truth.
-
What a great interview! Very excited on the direction the FDA is going and the new initiatives. We are so lucky to have Dr Makary heading the FDA. He is incredible!
-
Biostatistician here. 👋 Really important conversation. Thanks, Friedberg!
-
Fantastic interview! I love the changes the FDA is making! I’m extremely grateful for Dr Marty Makary!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
-
Huge!
-
David your on a roll.. Another good Interview.. Marty is another GEM. Thank You
-
I’m sure you are hearing it from others, but you all should build a media empire! It would be cool to see you bring in other shows underneath your banner or under the poker theme. Beat down the reckless government spending and inefficiency. It is the fall of every great empire.
-
This was THE most informative conversation I love the way we are moving through this administration and helping people. I think we have to acknowledge that there is a group of people that will never embrace it and that's going to have to be OK. Im 60 and living with insulin resistance. Modern medicine at Kaiser in Ca wanted me to eat 3x a day and eat carbs- put me on metfirmin and insulin and and statins just say oh well I have bad genes I listened to doctors on utube and rejected standard medicine. Over 15 months of glucose monitoring with meat and fat in my diet and I Feel Anazing! Its hard at first but no sugar / carbs is a game changer and actually cheaper
-
Everyone knows friedberg is the reason we stick around
-
Amazing podcast Dr Marty and Friedberg!
-
This kind of info makes me excited for the future.
-
What a breath of fresh air. Leadership that is smart, logical, understands that we need to operate efficiently if the U.S. wishes to continue to be a world leader!
-
I'm 23 minutes in and this guy Marty is one of the best guys you have had on
-
This interview with Dr. Makary was truly enlightening and enjoyable! Love it!
-
I'm going all in on these interviews. Friedberg has done a stellar job covering the science corner with Dr. Makary. I am so grateful for the thoughtful and sweeping changes this administration has made. The best is yet to come.
-
Best interview yet. Makery should run for president.
-
This is the first administration that is working for the people, then distracted stealing from the people.
-
9:45 A year and a half to be told no on a survey. This ties directly into the Adam Carolla interview. You need some Safe Space people, but when they take over any institution, everything grinds to a halt.
-
David is a great interviewer. Always like hearing from dr marty
-
A great interview. What a combo! Makary and Friedberg.
-
Friedberg the best Bestie!
-
This is beautiful. I was at a DPC medical conference where Marty was our key note speaker several years ago. He gets it. Direct Primary Care is part of the change and disruption that healthcare needs.
-
Massive respect for Dr Makary.
-
Dr. Makary is a super star! So greatful that a real scientist/ doctor is in charge here. Hopeful there will be less gaslighting by politically captured ideologues.
-
This is encouraging. Great discussion. I'd like to add, because I'm a proud mom, my son age 30 just got his PhD in Integrated Biomedical Sciences-Biochemical Mechanisms in Medicine Discipline from UT Health San Antonio. His Dissertation Defense was on "Investigating the Role of Senescence Escape in Glioblastoma Tumor Recurrence." It's way over my head, but as a parent I'm so proud. He's starting his career with a Temp/Guest Lecturer position at UTTyler (hometown) for the Spring Semester. Basically he's teaching Biology to Freshmen.
-
David is a treasure! The best interviews.
-
I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve said out loud, “Hell Yes!”
-
I never thought I’d hear someone in government saying so many reasonable things about science, nutrition, and environmental factors when it comes to human health! How do we get more of this???
-
God Bless them for the food changes!!!!
-
That was an amazing conversation.
-
Great Interview!!!!!! I really appreciate these 1 on 1 interviews!!!!
-
These are great David! We love seeing this one on one interviews with government agency heads.
-
Thanks both. Dave is so thoughtful and it’s great to be able to have these longer format interviews with allow time to get to a good depth on many topics. (Edit typos)
-
Amazing interview!! David obviously didn’t his homework on the issues thoroughly and Dr. M is so frank and straight forward with his answers. Thank you!
-
"let thy food be thy medicine"🥂
-
Excellent interview
-
Another amazing interview. I like those one on one sessions
-
Great conversation. Thank you. I'm very happy to hear clear rational discussions based on first principles and logic rather than political hysteria. A quick question: How about repurposing generic drugs generally regarded as safe that have growing preclinical evidence (mechanistic, cellular, sub cellular, and animal studies). For example, fenbendazole and ivermectin. No company, so no applications, but a potential game changer.
-
Fascinating interview David. Thank you to you and Commissioner Makary.
-
Thank you, Marty. Yes, our veteran's deserve so much better. ❤
-
As a physician I can’t begin to tell you how important this work is. I cared for Covid pts in the hospital wards and ICU with so much death and dying…and was astounded when it became political. So great to see him bringing back sanity and logic based on legit science
-
What a great interview. Thank-you David. Your intelligent and researched question, coupled with your genuine passion in science draws the best out of quality interviewees.
-
Feinberg is a great interviewer. This is a tremendous presentation which I really felt was a welcome breath of fresh air. Thank you!
-
Fantasic Interview. Thanks David, you really got what it takes.
-
this is so wonderful. Marty is such an all-star
-
Wow! Great interview! Thank you Dave!!
-
Incredible interview
-
Loved all of this
-
Marty is the man
-
Him and Dr. Prasad are amazing. They truly try to be guided by science and open debate. IMO, that’s why they are attacked so much. The corruption from career bureaucrats, academia, and politicians is too strong. It’s a self serving system that gives awards, jobs, grants, prestige, promotions to those that push agendas and powerful interest groups. Hopefully these leaders have the opportunity to bring true science back and foster real health promoting actions… at least for some time, until the corrupt ones return…
-
I think friedburn is my favorite bestie
-
Great information. I would wish the news would cover all of these great advancements instead of giving attention to those paid instigators 24/7
-
It's a safeguard. There has to be a way to measure one person's utility to society because why should society have to foot the bill and pay millions of dollars to save somebody in their 70s or later, when they've already lived their life life-saving medicine should only be given to people under 65
-
This was great. I love Marty Makary and was really excited to see him at the help of FDA. However, I think you didn't press him at all about the food pyramid and how it was derived. There were only 9 people and at least 7 one them have ties to the meat, dairy industry and to General Mills. so, are we at all surprised that the protein goals doubled when there are no protein deficiency in the US? The red meat got the golden crown even though irrefutable data shows that consumption of red meat should be cut to a minimum and on and on. There were no hard ball questions on this issue and how robust is the data data was cited for these guidelines.
-
Absolutely outstanding interview David Friedberg!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
-
Thank you for the interview.
-
AMAZING! SOOOO glad these seemingly rational and obvious things are being studied AND delt with! Go MAHA!! None of the information coming out is at all shocking for those who have been jumping up and down about our "sick care" vs health care situation. Tha k you thank you!
-
Love how they're considering speeding up approvals with a bayesian approach. Friedberg specials are the best. Please keep them coming 🙏
-
Frieberg and science interviews is the perfect pairing.
-
Top notch interview. Thank you!
-
Thank you gentlemen for all you are doing!
-
Love our current leaders! Keep it rolling!
-
Amazing. Good work and thank you for your service
-
Great and informative interview with so many grounds covered. Well done, Dave
-
36:05 "Food Politics" by Marion Nestle is a great book on the origin of the food pyramid.
-
Just when I started to question Friedburg's integrity with the last interview, you go and do something like this... AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF
-
38 jabs in any kid to teener is still epic levels of ridiculousness.
-
Always love this science corner
-
Great interview and content. Thank you for this
-
These are awesome!
-
This all sounds great. Now let's see it happen.
-
These are great keep them coming. It's so informative.
-
Great interview
-
Good interview. I learned a lot.
-
Very impressive.
-
What an amazing interview! Congratulations !
-
Hey— eye doctor here— Friedberg, the pink eye story is relevant. Rather than have access to otc antibiotics, which would likely not impact the most common cause of “pink eye” (viral), you would want an immediate video telehealth visit, even AI-optimized, to get a short-term treatment plan and proper follow up to maximize benefit and minimize risk (including long term risk of community antibiotic resistance)
-
Dr Makary, remember the Carlsbad NM hospital, the one that took an entire chapter of your book? Things are still bad here. In case of an emergency, if we can’t mail to Lubbock we at least drive the hour to Artesia.
-
Good conversation! Thanks for the information!
-
Thank you for that interview, very informative!
-
Dr. Makary is the ambassador we need - patient-oriented, non-political, common sense, and likable. I want to hear more!! :-)
-
Thank you for posting this fantastic interview, well done David. This podcast should be part of everyones educational curriculum be it in science/medicine, IT, statistics, history, or governmental affairs. All students should be asked to pick three or four points/ideas from this discussion and report back to class prepared to discuss and debate their findings in an open setting. I bet you would have some spirited discussion and a constructive exchange of ideas beyond the classroom setting. Dr Makary, thank you for your public service, leadership writhing the FDA and willingness to address mistakes that have been made in the past.
-
And absolute marvel, this conversation! So many good news!!!! I hope Dr Makary gets 50-70% of what he lays out.
-
David Friedberg, you are the best.
-
Thank You for your leadership at FDA, Dr. MaKary. Bio‑ethics is an indispensable cornerstone for the flourishing of humanity. It provides the moral framework that guides scientific discovery, medical practice, pharmaceutical development, and public‑health policy, ensuring that advances in biology and technology serve the common good rather than undermine human dignity or safety. By insisting on informed consent, equitable access to care, rigorous risk‑benefit assessment, and transparent decision‑making, bio‑ethics protects vulnerable individuals, fosters public trust, and promotes justice across societies. In short, without a robust bio‑ethical foundation, the pursuit of knowledge and innovation could jeopardize the very lives and values it aims to improve—making bio‑ethics not merely advisable but truly imperative for the sake of humanity.
-
VERY IMPORTANT CONVERSATION! ♥ David - thank you!♥ To hear the FDA, FINALLY, is changing the food pyramid is huge news on it's own. Research on causes, hearing the FDA speaking out loud about inflammation and insuline resistancy being the leading factor on developing most of chronic diseases. AMAZING. Great questions, David. I really think that very Marty Makary and yourself should do that conversation quarterly! How all that information go to the common Joe? Bless you, man!
-
I am amazed at how David so deeply understands the science despite not being a physician scientist. Absolutely the most trustworthy and legit. Great interview!
-
INCREDIBLE. Transparency directly effecting results, love it!
-
Excellent conversation. I would love Science Corner as a weekly pod.
-
Thank you Dr. Majary
-
What a great interview. Thanks for doing this Friedberg!
-
OMG. Love this Dr. Great interview Dave.
-
I love how each member is leveraging the shows success to purse each hosts interest. I know Sachs would never ever be interested in this topic but David is super into this topic.
-
I am excited for the healthcare industry! What a fantastic interview!
-
David, you are amazing. I don't understand half of what you're talking about, I'm just glad there's someone asking the questions. My favorite line from the doctor is, " What are we waiting for?". I now feel there is a sense of urgency that was never present in the FDA before. Move fast and break things.
-
Blown away by this information! Thanks.
-
This is great conversation with information that translate to easy understanding concept. No need a Ph.D to understand what the FDA is doing. Great host and great guest.
-
God Bless this Man.
-
Great job David, our Sultan of Science!!!
-
Excellent interview Friedberg.
-
I like this guy. good focus on the right issues. we are very lucky he is in public service
-
Marty is the man. ❤
-
What a great interview!! I’m hopeful that US will succeed in getting new drugs faster
-
This is an outstanding interview
-
Another great podcast
-
Fantastic episode
-
Great episode and loving these formats way to go David!
-
Great interview!
-
Great Informative discussion
-
Epic interview!!!
-
so pleasent and full of current events..thank you!
-
thanks for talking about it
-
Great interview.. would be great to have a follow up in a year or 2 to see what progress has been made and more important where there has not been and why! Thanks for the science corner 😀
-
Love this guy
-
Thank you David...
-
Fantastic conversation. One of the most informative in recent months
-
Thank you. Great talk.
-
If we’re talking “supercharging” approvals + putting patients first… the Elevidys saga is the elephant in the room. Families have been living through months of uncertainty/whiplash while the process drags on. Speed + clarity (with safety) shouldn’t be optional when kids are waiting.
-
I think one thing we can do as a society to look after our youth better is to get 1 parent back in the household to help support health, emotional and intellectual development. I think it is critical that we do that for the health of our working class.
-
Thank you Marty for your service to our country
-
Can you please discuss what vaccine schedule you decided to follow for your children?
-
Thanks to your leadership @ the FDA, Dr Makary. And to Dr Jay Bhattacharya and Dr. Vinay Prasad. I have a couple of thoughts: (1) I am very happy to hear about several new jnitiatives. My kids have definitely started taking in more protein. I do not know if carbs can be opted out, particularly in the private sectors (sports and restaurants). (2) I have been taking covid vaccinations yearly and sharing effects over LinkedIn. In addition to your ongoing efforts with mRNA vaccinations, please approve the non-mRNA vaccinations available with CVS. (3) Do we come back to report on the campus? I will be otherwise looking at the information and shooting emails for clarifications. Congratulations to you and family on having a son 🎉 Best!
-
❤ I love this!! Thank God, it's finally getting good. ❤ This has been wrong for such a long time. I hope these changes make a big difference.
-
David Friedberg? More like "Dang good interviewer!" I for one am really excited about our FDA now 👍 20:25 I bet Yud would be excited.
-
wow this guy is awesome ! He actually mentioned the food pyramid *ahem*... and fixed it...
-
Great Discussion! Thank you Dr Makary for your inspiring vision. As someone involved in bringing biologics to market, I can tell you that there were 9 entrants that were ready to supply the market immediately after Humira’s patent expired. However, you are absolutely right that the price didn’t adjust down but that was directly because of the PBM influence and their markups .
