It’s wonderful that Bryan is willing to share his exploratory journey with the public. I find it interesting how his path has shifted a bit, from rigorous “self” improvement practices focused on health and longevity, to psychedelic experiences, which can “crack open the door” to fundamental awareness and and a sense of “no self”. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but it seems like he’s moving from a material exploration to a spiritual one. Btw, the two are not mutually exclusive.

Love to see this experiment, yes proceed with the caution. 5meO is not for everyone. During Bufo, I did not have euphoria or expansion, I just re-experienced my NDE (near death experience) so please be careful friends. Psychedelics will dissolve your ego, but also the ego plays an important role in identity, relationships and orienting the self to reality. Expansion, expansion expansion... but there is also the dark night of the soul and the hard parts. I'm glad you have love and support. Change comes in leaps not in small steps with psychedelics.

  • @strafe155 · 49 likes Apr 6, 2026

Some Near Death experiences known as "Peak in Darien Experiences" involve interactions with deceased people who were still thought to be alive at the time, or were complete strangers to the experiencer. For Example: Cardiologist Pim Van Lommel from the Netherlands has documented the extensive NDE of a Dutch man who, whilst undergoing cardiac arrest, saw his dead grandmother and a strange man who looked at him lovingly, but whom he couldn't recognize. Over a decade after his NDE, his mother, while on her deathbed, confessed to him that he'd actually been born from an extramarital affair, and that her husband wasn't his real father. His biological father was actually a Jewish man who'd been deported and killed in World War II during the German Occupation of the Netherlands. She also showed her son a photograph of his biological father, and he immediately recognized him as the strange man he had seen smiling at him lovingly during his NDE over a decade earlier.

"Are we ever a persistent person?" Oh my god Friedberg discovering no-self

  • @tirilelstad · 37 likes Apr 6, 2026

We are infinite 🧬 The ego tries to label us, make us into something or someone. But the moment we accept a label, we put ourselves in a box. When life is driven only by ego, it can lead us into roles and environments that don’t actually support who we are. That’s often what’s behind those moments when someone walks away from a high powered life, it no longer feels true. The more aligned you are with your truth, the less you feel the need to define yourself. Ego (self) will be a fun companion but not your Self (with a capital S). “I am this” becomes simply “I am”… and eventually just “am.”

  • @Velodan1 · 35 likes May 6, 2026

I don’t think the people realize how incredibly courageous Bryan Johnson was, or ignorant of the potential consequences. Where he allowed himself to be taken to, is a place where most humans could lose their sanity. As an early explorer of powerful hallucinogens, I think I know what he’s talking about and unless you’ve been there, you have absolutely no idea. So my hat is off to you Mr. Johnson. You sir, are a powerful spiritual being.

  • @beholdretreats · 35 likes Apr 6, 2026

What Bryan describes, the full-system shift, the persistence of the change , mirrors exactly what we witness in a properly held ceremonial setting. The molecule is extraordinary! What surrounds it — the preparation, the facilitation, the integration — is what determines whether that shift becomes a lasting transformation or a fading memory. Great interview!

After a couple months of deeply meditating and praying everyday, I decided to take an Aya analog-a fairly large dose. I went deep into meditation and prayer before it took effect. At first, I experienced a quietude so quiet, a stillness so still, so peaceful, so eternal feeling that it is hard to describe. Then it morphed into the most intensely joyous and Love filled state that I have ever experienced. I felt/knew I was one with the Creator, with the collective of Co-Creators (the fully grown up children of God), and with everything. The joy and love I felt was so intensely pleasurable that it was almost too much for my human body to handle. This lasted for a few hours. I had to purposely ground some (went outside, barefoot), and then went back to it and experienced it more intensely, like stronger waves. Also received some intense downloads about some different subjects.

hey folks - i'm 53 and have done all of these things over a 25 year journey. my advice: before you do intense psychedelics, ESPECIALLY 5MAO, build a real meditation practice - like 30 minutes a day for a year or more - and do deep emotional work to work out at least some amount of your childhood stuff. And I mean, really work it. This will help you build the MUSCLE to let go and trust me it is a MUSCLE. You will maximize the chances of the type of experience Brian is talking about.

  • @Rapannell36 · 14 likes Apr 26, 2026

His happiness is contagious, he's just smiling throughout the whole interview. But it's not like a fake hollywood smile, he looks genuinely happy to be there and sharing his experience. I can tell he's not lying about that transformation back to a "child-like" state of excitement towards the world. I'm terrified of trying psychedelics because I think I may be one of those people who fits into the category of being predisposed to schizophrenia. When he talks about first entering the trip and being forced to make that decision of either fighting it, or completely surrendering and letting go, I don't know if I'll be able to let go.

Ive smoked DMT everyday for about 2 months and the changes were as follows: I was much more aware. I was able to understand situations and concepts at a much faster rate, like we could be having a conversation and in the middle of it, I already understand where you were coming from g from and your exact point. Almost like having eyes and ears all around my head. Hyper aware. So I asked companions who have known me for many years: am I different? And the answer was, you’re definitely happier. More present. A little faster than before (I felt that part). Basically my brain neurons were just connecting faster. I stopped smoking it and every now and then do shrooms. I also drank ayahuasca about 50 times since 2000. I’m definitely the type of human people Don’t forget. Not sure if that’s goood or bad 😊

Be careful people. Yes, it can be a really deep experience but don't think this is a holiday or recreation. Before you use it make sure you're in a stable mental place, with trustworthy people nearby at a place where it is safe. It can go wrong. You can have a bad trip that will be as impressive as a good trip but then impressive in a truly terrible way and it might give you a severe anxiety disorder for a while, or even a psychotic episode if you're prone to that. Do the risk/reward calculation for yourself and be smart about it.

Having used 5meo (regularly!) and microdose psilisybin, iboga, ibogaine, there's pretty well nothing I haven't experienced. I don't know how to convince people how beneficial halucinagenics are? They have opened my mind. They've made me a better person. They've made me INCREDIBLY intuitive and perceptive, even by looking into people's eyes and making or turning situations to my advantage. The life you have been living is a grain of sand on an infinite beach. You have been 'here (infinite unconditional LOVE)' forever. How could all of what you are possibly fit into that grain of sand? Such a notion is hilarious! Then, when you return, and realize it only took a few moments, but was also infinity and eternity...WOW!!!! Every human deserves to die by astonishment! Rebirth!

It took me 14 years putting it together and there were people laughing at me along the way. Then when the ship came in and I saw that giant glorious pile I then knew that no drug could reveal to me what I learned on my journey but why me. All I wanted was a happy normal life like I'd seen other people have but that wasn't in the cards for me so I had to put some action in my life. Then I did it again but this time much faster and then I said to myself my God I know what's wrong with me. I'm a machine elf that's stuck in this damn reality. The elves are known to say look at this as they show you something magnificent that you have never seen before well I did the same thing all the time and nobody could figure out why exactly not even me. But now I know. 😮

I've never seen this gentleman before. After clicking for the video title, I was VERY skeptical upon seeing the suit and flags. But this guy asked some REALLY great questions. I was very impressed! I'm going to look more into this guy's work. And on the other side, it's absolutely mind-blowing that Data from Star Trek: TNG has come to live such an interesting and "real human" -type of life. Kudos, Lieutenant. --All jokes aside, a deeper look into the work of Mr. Bryan Johnson must also be done. This is a great, succinct, information-packed interview.

He sounds and looks lighter, thank you for a great interview, excellent questions, beautifully answered by Bryan.... I wish on some of them he stayed a bit longer to reflect as it felt at those times like he was rushed.... Thank you for sharing your experience with the rest of us, it gives us hope & knowledge of what is possible and available. Thank you ❤

A crucial point that was missed here, psychedelics don't "make you a new person overnight" -They work by a process of subtraction, taking away the false layers of self that you have added over the years to reveal your true internal signal, it is a process that creates freedom to know yourself. Secondly you need to have a solid ontology (theory of reality) to be able to get the full benefits of psychedelics or you will drift into mystic nonsense or "go to the woods" because you didn't figure out what reality was, who you are and what your motivations are - and then you ripped off the falsehoods in one trip.

Psilocybin is the best thing i ever did. The initial bad trips are just an inescapable mirror of your voluntary flaws. After that the gains in mental freedom are invaluable.

People are touching these dimensions through various methods psychedelics, meditation, near death experiences, all touching these dimensions. We never die, like energy (because we are energy), we just transform and slide into this world.
