-
The podcast looks like a Austin Powers set theme 😂
-
Friedberg: Your story of why you returned as a CEO is most definitely the highlight of this episode. These nuggets are why this podcast is the best‼
-
@26:00 - genuinely thank you for ACCOUNTING CORNER - I know it puts some to sleep but I genuinely appreciate it!
-
Harder to edit out when they talk over each other in person 😂
-
You guys had both Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman on the podcast within the last year…
-
Amazing soliloquy by Friedberg about being a CEO vs Board member. A man in the arena. I love it.
-
"Jason are you going to play yourself?" was hilarious.
-
They bully Jason so much. But he never loses his stride or confidence. That's part of what makes this interesting. They all do it to each other, somewhat. Skin, thick as rhinos. It has to correlate with them being rich, right? Is it the cause or the effect?
-
As a CPA, I appreciate Freidberg's breakdown of the Accounting concepts.
-
Starts with Chamath finding excuses for his dear leader.
-
I would love to see a debate between Michael Burry and David Friedberg.
-
You think the files aren't being hurriedly redacted and censored before release..?? You think we're getting ALL the files..??
-
Chamath going HAM on Burry. Gotta love the loyalty to Friedberg
-
Now they dare to discuss Epstein, without referencing Trump..
-
This has to be done periodically, the in person energy was amazing. Politics is great and needed but more business conversations was a breath of fresh air and the poker and investment bet sizing, running your own money vs managing money topic was insightful
-
“Friend of the pod Larry summers” I’m pretty sure Sachs wanted to attack summers any time they talked…
-
Not one comment about the fact that the case is about that none have been charged except ghislane maxwell, it has to do with justice has not been served
-
Awesome to hear Friedbergs story about his losses and wins.. honest, raw, and so insightful. More of this is where the real value of this podcast comes from. More from the others on this too please
-
Friedberg is the only reason I listen to this podcasts nowadays. The only guy untainted by power and money. Seriously disappointed with Chamath and Sacks.
-
You should have Reid on to tell us all about JE and the island 😀
-
Chamath overcompensates so hard with his cringy bullying of Jason it's so awkward 😢
-
Call me old fashioned, but I prefer the Zoom format.
-
All In Pod - you guys need to read One Nation Under Blackmail if you really want to understand Epstein.
-
Thank you for having me, besties!
-
I love this new forum! Thank you for keeping these free! P.S. I hope Sacks makes and appearence.
-
Trump to Mamdani: “May I meet you?”
-
Whooooaaaa all in in person??? Man what a treat, it’s been a while.
-
David is the clear winner this week. Gaap rules thanks
-
Friedburg - Thank you for the candor, insight and especially vulnerability. Great lessons learned from you laying it all out. Much appreciated.
-
Jason’s in the book?
-
The introspection from David sharing personal introspection on what to with his life was such a great moment of this pod
-
Does Chamath know that Jason has been slandering tether for years? Look at Jason’s reaction when it comes up 😂
-
Chamath you are consistently critical of Jason. Great to disagree but please be respectful.
-
Credit to the Besties. I thought this topic would never ever get discussed.
-
The biggest question Is there anyone going to get prosecuted once files are released
-
Anything Chamath pushes for, I’m not interested.
-
Thankyou freidberg for accounting corner and science corner. Always love it.
-
Love how they brought back social distancing for this episode!
-
EACH OF YOUS BRING IN A CHUNK OF GOLD AND A CHUNK OF SILVER FOR THE NEXT POD CAST. AND TEACH US ABOUT THEM
-
Nice relaxing episode, not a lot of insights or difficult conversations, but good for a relaxed weekend. I still appreciate the more insightful discussions from before though.
-
I second having Stanley Druckenmiller on the pod.
-
The FBI / DOJ came out recently and said the case was CLOSED. I don’t know why the rich & powerful are now saying that they can’t release files as it’s still under investigation
-
Guys I am an accounting professor. Depreciation is a not cash expense. Companies are fundamentally valued on expected discounting cashflows. I agree Burry does not get it. Think for a moment if your building is fully deprecited in 30 years and the building still standing.
-
The only non billionaire (at the time) was the only one who attended the billionaires dinner 😅
-
Great talk. Incredibly candid conversation at the end. Felt exclusive. Bravo.
-
The fact that stable coins are just now getting discussed is crazy. Listen to the signal though, tethers reserve asset is BTC and gold. Thats the important part.
-
I like Friedberg the most. Account Corner POG
-
More of Friedberg vulnerability. Loved the story about returning as a CEO. Would love to hear everyone’s else’s story at a human level.
-
Love the white sweater.. Very sharp!!
-
Love this podcast for tech take, but the moment they get into politics or anything about normal people’s lives, they sound so out of touch it becomes unintentionally hilarious. For example, in one episode Chamath said immigrants feel safer today than when he came to America from Sri Lanka via Canada — which is such a disconnected take that it almost feels like satire.
-
Has Chamath done anything of note other than join Facebook in the early days? His track record as an investor is pretty patchy.
-
so where are the files? going through last editor refinement?
-
Classic limited hangout! Friend of the pod Larry Summers .... was asking for dating advice. What was not discussed was who Friend of the pod Larry was seeking dating advice for. Keyu Jin un-official CCP spokesman and daughter of most likely the most power guy in the CCP. The pain on Jasons face and gloom in the room is actually painful to watch. Keyu Jin is quite the intellectual, musician, Chinese economist, published author, hangs out at the WEF and currently serving as a Professor of Finance at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She should defiantly be a bestie on the pod!
-
Why aren't the victimised girls, who are now mature adults, not revealing who abused them. The actual Epstein files are almost irrelevant when the actual victims are in existence to identify the guilty.
-
Being a CFO was good to welcome accounting corner! On AI hardware depreciation there is further nuance. Not just about useful life because depreciation schedule does not have to be linear. Computer games accounting very similar. Would be happy to explain.
-
I'd just like to know if epstein's clients will be released and charges made, arrests made? any?
-
Freidberg - that coconut water box is lined with plastic!
-
Keep doing accounting corner!
-
Nice venue 🎉
-
Enjoy the F1 race!!!
-
I loved the conversation of personal ventures, very eye opening hearing you all talk about what you actually do at work and how you think about decisions.
-
Jason - "it's not like we do this for a living" Chamath - "you do! it's not like I'm saying you do it well.." 😂😂😂
-
I love Accounting Corner!
-
I love accounting corner!! ❤
-
Come for Science Corner, stay for Accounting Corner 😁
-
Accounting corner jingle needs to be a ringtone
-
Epstein and diddy maybe two sides of the same coin. Its a network collecting info on prominent figures for more power. Imagine power over the powerful
-
8:12 Billionaires: "We all know people in the intelligence community, and there's easy ways to pass intel without, like, working for."
-
Long live Frieberg! Dude is so damn smart when it comes to dissecting things I appreciate his intensity this dude is a wise man. And yes, get Drunkenmiller on here that dude is the master fund manager.
-
Jacket, sweater, t-shirt.
-
I'm sure if you guys keep giving the mic to Chamath and let him talk about 50% of the episode, the rating of this show will tank. Chamath talks a lot of fluff but nothing real substance. You should let Friedberg speak more and invite other guests who are more knowledgeable and credible than SPAC king Chamath.
-
~28:00 Friedburg was so cute being SO serious about accounting (love accounting myself).
-
To Chamath's point at 35:04, you guys totally should do a lottery to bring a random fan onto the pod for a few questions!
-
“People love accounting corner” was so funny
-
Thanks Friedberg for creating a corner for us CPA’s 😊
-
This is a great episode. In person definitely improves the flow and the set is very nice
-
The philosophical part was great and it added depth in the podcast
-
the whole time I was waiting for Sacks to walk in and take Jason's seat
-
This was friedbergs best pod
-
Solid. Love the jingle too!
-
Love the in person vibe.
-
Accounting corner is great Edit: Friedberg is great
-
Chamath is mean sometimes. I ❤️ the Accounting Corner.
-
Love the accounting David. Estimating the useful life of chips and software is as tough as picking the next big stock. But you get to look at the assets every year and accelerate the writeoff if appropriate. On the other hand, GAAP accounting is conservative so you typically don't bring prior depreciation back as income if you wrote it off too fast. Whether Burry's bet works out probably depends more on stuff that is currently unknowable, than on whether he has correctly determined a knowing effort to improperly defer expensing these capital costs.
-
Accounting corner!
-
48:08 these kind of stories are what we want to hear, excellent insight from friedberg as usual. thank you!
-
32:25 - next you guys will be saying marketing expenses should be capitalized and depreciated over time. Yikes
-
Gotta say JCal is looking way healthier than he did in Episode 1.
-
ACCOUNTING CORNER LMAO
-
Big all in Fan, been on the train since episode 20. Would be interested to hear thoughts on how chamaths character seems to have changed over the past few years - I feel he has become less of an independent commentator and more of a Logan Paul type character essentially only pushing his own agenda and gaslighting everyone else who disagrees with him - makes it harder to trust. Have I read this wrong or are other viewers seeing this.
-
Please realize depreciation is a soft cost, and does not affect cash flow. In fact, it helps CF by reducing taxes.
-
Hyperscalers are audited by the BIG 4 firms who put their best of the best audit professionals on them. They work on these large clients year round and assets are subject to enormous amounts of audit work including impairment testing. Also subject to SEC reviews via public filings. Go talk to an audit partner in Silicon Valley of a BIG 4 firm. LOL
-
I love how JCal doesn't get that the boys are just winding him up, and he ends up all defensive and justifying.
-
Came to just watch Friedburg dunk on Burry
-
the big guy from modern family could play Reid
-
I like this format better than everyone on a zoom call. Nice
-
Liked the video just for Friedberg's accounting corner. So good
-
Love Accounting Corner !!!
-
Oh my god. As an accountant, I love the accounting corner jingle.
-
alan keating segment was phenomenal. 20+ years of wall street life, it felt so relatable to hear his inner thoughts in his craft of poker, super interesting - thank you.
-
Every week since Jan I keep repeating wow Friedberg, what are you saying Chamath
-
The in-person studio format reminds me why the internet is beating traditional media. Great as a special episode, but I wouldn't want it weekly.
-
It's entertaining to see how hard Jamal works on destroying any trustworthiness he still might have left.
-
Live from the Venetian looks good
-
ACCOUNTING CORNER IS DOPE GENTS
-
Love accounting corner ❤
-
Shout out accounting corner
-
I think a large part of our economy is selling clicks for other clicks. What I mean by that is, companies are swapping money back and forth in hopes that they generate a buyer of a tangible service or product at some point. The problem is, there are billions of dollars being traded back and forth that are incredibly inefficient at producing that end goal of a consumer. Once AI / AGI eventually streamlines that process, the big dogs will eat, but the majority of the rest of the economy will stay inefficient with their advertising dollar.
-
China, Russia, middle east. And the list goes on! The thrill he had being involved into world affairs, politics, tech / scientists.
-
Fermi company looks promising in Texas, combining all the different methods of energy production to run AI and data centers, led by former TX governor! Only $14 right now.
-
All I'm saying is I've never seen Friedberg and Thiel in the same room.
-
Worth noting that a lot of the people in the files are being exposed for gross behavior but didn’t actually do anything illegal, so there’s a real question of why/if the government should expose these people’s private lives if there’s nothing illegal
-
You guys should get Eric Weinstein to talk about Epstein and many other cool stuff! I bet it would be amazing.
-
PUT SCOTT GALLOWAY AS A GUEST
-
It is not about learning! It is about protecting our children and criminal punishment.
-
9/11 legitimate investigation and release of information. It has been 25 years.
-
Whats up with the KFC studio?
-
Chamath, what accounting laws did you use on your SPACs
-
Chamath made more sense explaining because the system has changed so the schedule has to be changed. David's a bit incrrect in the sense that he doesn't seem to be aware you have have utilitzation even though the asset already fully depreciated. You can have a fab of $0 value on books, that's still utilized, because you fully depreciated the asset.
-
Accounting Corner jingle was fucking incredible 😂
-
One of my favorite episodes for sure. Something about that formal setting where they're all physically there, interacting with one another. Doesn't feel so zoom/ingly....... love the zoomingly as well, but I wager it's funner for them to physically be there with one another as well.
-
Thank you for the episode. Cool to see you together in one room.
-
Friedberg, thank you for sharing your story about your challenges as being a CEO. I struggle with balance and it's nice to hear when someone like you shares an authentic story. Keep up the amazing work boys!
-
great peeps another great ep gents
-
Best show on the planet fellas! Keep being in the heat!🔥🇺🇸💯
-
Good show, great Keating segment.
-
I tune in to your Podcast From Nairobi Kenya! - Never Missed one! {Currency - Kenyan Shilling}
-
This was fun and insightful as always 😂
-
Love the in person format
-
Madness. Awesome. Another winner JCal.
-
Best part of the show was Friedberg's soliloquy at 44:17
-
Did Jason go to the island?
-
Freidberg is a g for sharing that story
-
The thumbnail color scheme is great, it really pops in the feed
-
"Accounting Corner" Jingle is REALLY good on 1.5x
-
I really like you guys, and I appreciate the time you are taking out of your day to talk about these things. There are too many billionaires hiding in closets.
-
I like the business first intensity of this show
-
Chamath just roasting JCal at 42 minutes
-
I think this is the ultimate conclusion: get Burry on the pod
-
For a second I thought I accidentally clicked on an NBA post-game discussion.😅
-
@CHAMATH AND THE OTHER GREAT PODCASTERS! You have many interesting investments. Since energy is a frequent subject on the podcast I wish to ask about your understanding of Graphene? HGRAF and others make statements that Graphene produces substantial improvements in energy production.
-
Thank you all for all your hard works!
-
Chamath was really great as main host. Very Awesome Format.
-
I love your Pod. This was one of the best. Greetings from a start-up founder in London.
-
The story of Friedberg returning CEO is very profound and inspiring. Thanks
-
"So when they make the movie will you play yourself" - had me in tears 🤣
-
Oh Boy - can’t wait for The Poker Game footage!
-
Friedberg's assessment was so great...thank you...that made logical sense.
-
Great Show. You guys are the best……….Chamath - I’m going to “upgrade” to what you read weekly and your research team information……Thanks guys…..
-
We NEED more poker content please.
-
Compromised. This whole pod.
-
Loved the digs at Jcal today 😂
-
wow Quite a story by friedberg !! Really inspiring to hear that side of him
-
I’d be thrilled to witness Friedberg pulling off a live bluff!
-
I would tune in to hear Michael!
-
El Salvador is full of incredible destinations beyond that prison, sir 🙂. Feel free to look around for more places to explore!
-
These guys really got into a studio in vegas so close to a rebellion against the uppers
-
A less preachy, funnier Chamath. Love it.
-
This format is so much better
-
Take a shot when Chamath wears his favourite sweater
-
The Poker guy basically described Day Trading Nasdaq perfectly
-
Great One!!
-
I love this setup!
-
I feel like I'm listening to Goodbye Horses aboard the Lady Ghislaine
-
Can you please post a link to where we can buy all of Chamath's sweaters? I have been asking for weeks and need to know!
